Jamie Voo excerpt twoI woke this morning with a pencil in my hand. A 2b. I felt a strong desire to evaluate the pencil. I considered it’s texture, examined it’s appearance, analysed it’s symbolic weight. I put it to paper and the word write transferred itself from the soft lead tip to the thin lined paper of an exercise book, blank but for fragmented notes on dreams I’d once had.
I’d never been a writer but I did own a cigarette holder so I thought I’d give it a go. I tried to write a short story set in a prison with a deeply embedded message of hope, then I went for a futuristic tale about a gang of pub landlords stranded on an eerie crimson planet. I'm desperate to go play with my camera, but I never seem to be gifted the time. Two weeks time gives me two weeks time... off work.
Until then, I've posted two short excerpts from a short story I'm trying to write about an unfinished carachter in a finished story.

Any feedback would really help as I've no literary type friends. Can you hear my violins?

Thanks for the comment... That's a photo from my first set of film in ages (it's one of only a few that came out OK) so it makes a real difference to hear something positive!
